What’s so good about Galactica?

without comments

On Slashdot, every time you get some news about “Star Trek”, someone comes and point that “Battlestar Galactica is the truly space series”. I did download the first four episodes, that looked more like “it was a movie for television, but we decided to split it in four for some obscure reason instead of play it all in once”. I remember that I thought “nothing special, but not bad either”.

Yesterday I saw the follow up of those four episodes (maybe the next after the follow up). And I must say that Galactica is nothing impressive. I mean, it actually looks like “X-Files In Space!”: lots of unanswered plots, annoying as hell, they even don’t have any character that you would feel sympathy with. And I won’t mention the completely STUPID Blair’s-Witch-Camera, even on computer generated scenes. That camera is simply making all the crap look more shity than normal.

So far, the old series looks way better.
