The Final Cut (Invasão de Privacidade)

without comments

As the first movie for yesterday (yup, I saw two), I saw “The Final Cut” (brazilian title: “Violação de Privacidade”). Oh, I didn’t add the “lj-cut” stuff but is is completely spoilerless (just the normal stuff every movie has).

It is the new Robin WIlliams movie, and I must admit that I saw it just because of him. There wasn’t any commercials around it, and I can’t remember seeing another movie with a trailer to this one.

The movie is about what would happen if everything we saw could be see by other later. Everything goes around this. “What would you do if you know every memory you have could be seen later?” is the motif.

It goes somewhat nice around this, but I miss the untold parts, like: you see what I saw, but you don’t feel what I’m feeling. There could be a nice story around here, but, they go just for the images.

Even with a weak story and a somehow loose script, I must say that choosing a movie just because of one actor wasn’t a wrong choice: Robin Williams is in his best shape in this movie, even without all his jokes around.

My recommendation: see it only if you have nothing better to do or if you really really like Robin Williams.
