Mr. I Screw Every Song

without comments

So today I got myself singing:

“Mister loverman, AJAX, AJAX!” (It should be “Mr Loverman, Shabba” or something like that). And no, I don’t do AJAX.

(There was another one using “xine”, but I can’t recall the lyrics right now).

Geez, what a voice

without comments

In the desert of my dreams I saw you there
And I’m walking towards the water steaming body cold and bare
But your words cut loose the fires and you left my soul to bleed
And the pair that’s in your death’s receiving me has got me scared

CHORUS
Oh why?

Through your eyes the strains of battle like a brooding storm
Your up and down these pristine velvet walls like focus never forms
My wake is getting wider and my eyes are drawn astray
Near you now a vague deception of a dying day

[CHORUS]

I fell into the water and once more I turn to you
and the crowds were standing staring faceless cutting off my view
They start to simply flail their bodies in twisted mime
And I’m lost inside this tangled web in which I’m lain
You’re gone and I’m lost inside this tangled entwined
Web in which I’m lain entwined

[CHORUS]

Can someone explain the music?

without comments

Thursday I was hearing some songs on my computer when one suddenly got my attention (I wasn’t really paying attention, the music was just for background while I was doing something else). This song was “Sad Clown” by Sarah McLachlan. For some reason, I really liked the song and played it again.

Now I got the lyrics and, for some reason, it feels like I’m feeling right now (of course, there are plenty of meanings you could take from these lyrics). It is not the first time I fall in love for some music to later found out there is something hidden in the lyrics that fit the moment.

When people say “music is the universal language”, they are not lying.

A time so haunting moonlight in the mist
Lay me down Beside you oh as long as it lasts
From the river comes a Figure drifting slowly by
Trailing long the water, leaving softer than a sigh
Softer than a sigh

All the feelings they remain like a still life
A dying swan song forever lost your cries of glory
The rain is falling down like silence in a shroud
When All that really matters left to lose
I’m all alone
I’m all alone

All the feelings they remain like a still life
A dying swan song forever lost your cries of glory
Walking from the shadows, a fear of sadness grows
Your heart is in your hand your knowing looks
Our Time is gone
My time is gone
Swan’s dying song…

Blind Date - Dreaming

without comments

All I remember
Is that you were standing
Oh so close
Still so far away
I don’t know if it is night or day

I can hear your footsteps
Only in nighttime
That’s when you came to me
That’s when I held you tight
I don’t know if it is wrong or right

Until the sands of time
Run out of me
I just close my eyes
And I can see you there

I must be dreaming
I’ve got myself believing (Till the end of time)
That you’ll be by my side
I saw the clouds roll by
And I think I saw you standing there
[2x]

I must be dreaming
You know I thought it was you
And I’m sure you feel this way
Anytime I close my eyes
You’re just a heartbeat away

I must be dreaming
I’ve got myself believing (Till the end of time)
That you’ll be by my side
I saw the clouds roll by
And i think I saw you standing there
[2x]

[Damn fucking lyrics, they don't appear anywhere in the internet. I had to type the whole thing. I'm still unsure about the "I saw the clouds roll by" part...]

HIM - Killing Loneliness

without comments

Memories, sharp as daggers
Pierce into the flesh of today
Suicide of love took away all that matters
And buried the remains in an unmarked grave in your heart

With the venomous kiss you gave me
I’m killing loneliness (Killing loneliness)
With the warmth of your arms you saved me,
Oh, I’m killing loneliness with you
The killing loneliness that turned my heart into a tomb
I’m killing loneliness

Nailed to the cross, together
As solitude begs us to stay
Disappear in the night, forever
And denounce the power of death over our souls and secret words are sent to start a war

With the venomous kiss you gave me
I’m killing loneliness (Killing loneliness)
With the warmth of your arms you saved me,
I’m killing loneliness with you
The killing loneliness that turned my heart into a tomb
I’m killing loneliness

Killing loneliness

With the venomous kiss you gave me
I’m killing loneliness (Killing loneliness)
With the warmth of your arms you saved me

Always some surprise on AudioScrobbler

without comments

Again, AudioScrobbler (now just last.fm) brought a surprise to me: Dionysus. They aren’t the most impressive metal band I ever heard, but there is a real gem between their work: “Forever More”. Some of the lyrics really hit what I’m feeling right now, so…

Dionysus - Forever more

When I’m down and out without the strength to carry on
The sun still reaches your hair as it’s always done
Will I ever see you again, just one last time?
Anyhow I cannot feel any peace of mind

All around the world the fallen ones will see
That love was never ever meant for me
I’m torn apart but how could I flee?
I would die for you, so please come rescue me

‘Cause I wonder where you are
Have our freedom gone too far?
Is there still an open door?
I will love you forever ever more

I realize that life is never easy
But in my heart, I’d hoped for something greater
A dream I guess, but something to hold on to
A rainbow on a darkening, rainy sky

‘Cause my body’s caught, but still my soul is out there
They can take away my life, but not my freedom
My love is all that matters, you’ll see
I would die for you, so please come rescue me

‘Cause I wonder where you are
Have our freedom gone too far?
Is there still an open door?
I will love you forever ever more

When I’m down and out without the strength to carry on
The sun still reaches your hair as it’s always done
Will I ever see you again, just one last time?
Anyhow I cannot feel any peace of mind

‘Cause I wonder where you are
Have our freedom gone too far?
Is there still an open door?
I will love you forever ever more

“Most beautiful music of all times” slow’s award

without comments

I don’t know what I did that I never payed too much attention to Pink Floyd songs, but “Coming Back To Life” is surely one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. Nice lyrics, right tempo, right everything, even being a song about a lost love. It is almost the perfect companion for “Def Leppard - Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad”: two different times of one non-mutual love. Even the rhythm of both seams to fit: “Have You Ever” is full of whistles and bells, strong guitars, almost gives you the impression of some despair; “Coming Back”, in other hand, have simple elements, and gives a feeling of relief.

Pink Floyd - Coming Back To Life

Where were you when I was burned and broken
While the days slipped by from my window watching
And where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless
Because the things you say and the things you do surround me
While you were hanging yourself on someone else’s words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

Lost in thought and lost in time
While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted
Outside the rain fell dark and slow
While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime
I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life

I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the waiting had begun
And headed straight..into the shining sun

The Pretenders - I’ll Stand By You

Oh, why you look so sad? Tears are in your eyes
Come on and come to me now.
Don’t be ashamed to cry, let me see you through
Cause I’ve seen the dark side too.

When the night falls on you, you don’t know what to do,
Nothing you confess could make me love you less

I’ll stand by you, I’ll stand by you,
won’t let nobody hurt you,
I’ll stand by you.

So, if you’re mad get mad, don’t hold it all inside,
Come on and talk to me now.
And hey, what you got to hide? I get angry too
But I’m alot like you.

When you’re standing at the crossroads, don’t know which path to choose,
Let me come along, cause even if your wrong

I’ll stand by you, I’ll stand by you,
won’t let nobody hurt you,
I’ll stand by you.
Take me into your darkest hour,
and I’ll never desert you.
I’ll stand by you.

And when, when the night falls on you baby,
you’re feeling all alone,
You won’t be on your own,

I’ll stand by you I’ll stand by you,
won’t let nobody hurt you.
I’ll stand by you
Take me in into your darkest hour
and I’ll never desert you
I’ll stand by you.

I decided to change the way I’m playing with the “MSN tagline of the day”. I’ll try to put it in the morning and let anyone try to find out what music it belongs. For those who find out, a great prize: your name/callsign on a post in “The Dork Dome”.

For those who don’t have my MSN, it is “jbiason@hotmail.com”.

Ready. Set. Go!
